contract or permanent

Post by kargha » Fri Aug 10, 2007 12:47 pm

hi!
I have received my HSMP approval letter and started to search job in software developing.
I see in the ads that some jobs are permanent and some are contract.
Unfortunetly I dont have knowledge about job market in UK.
what are the differences between permanent and contact jobs, which is more easy to find? which has more advantages.
any suggestings about searching a job before arriving to UK is highky appreciated.
I will not be able to go to UK before december. Is it too early to search a job or can potential employees wait until I arrange EC and go to UK.

I asked too many questions :)
thank you all.

best regards

Hi kargha,

Both types of jobs have advantages and disadvantages.

Perm will be more secured and will have respect in the organization.

Contract will end up with more money in your hand and less secure. ofcourse some contract jobs will need to work hard.

Perm jobs are more avaliable in the uk market when compared to contract.

Unless u r in uk it is highly difficult to get a job.

All the best for your EC.

Cheers,
niruv

Hi Kargha,

Getting a job in UK from India is nearly impossible as employers will go ahead with your applications only if you are residing in the UK. I have learned it the hard way. As for your other question, about permanent or contract jobs, I am also looking for an elaborate answer from some one who knows the UK job market.
