CoS start date

Post by christa07 » Wed Mar 07, 2018 5:46 pm

Hi all,

I received my certificate of sponsorship, but I haven't applied for my Tier 2 General visa yet because I've had to wait quite a while to get official bank statements from my bank. I realized that HR put my work start date as 15 February 2018; however, by the time I got my CoS it was well past that date. I've been reading that you must start work no later than 4 weeks from the start date on the CoS, but I haven't even put in my visa application yet. I was hoping to start work on 16 April 2018. Does anyone know if this will be an issue when trying to get my visa?

Thanks.

If you have read the Tier 2 Guidance you will find the following:

You must apply within 3 months from the date your Certificate of Sponsorship was assigned. You must also apply no more than 3 months before the start date on your Certificate of
Sponsorship.

I think it answers your question
