Council Tax and ILR. Applying this Monday

Post by nchat » Sat Aug 13, 2011 11:41 pm

I get single occupant discount on my council tax for the apartment I own. Is it considered a council tax benefit (there is a check box for this on ILR form)?

its not considered as a benefit. it will only get considered as a benefit if you have all of the council tax bill paid.

good luck

You are correct that the discount in not a benefit but this is not because the op's whole bill was not paid.

Op - it is not a public fund because council tax benefit and qualifying for a discount or exemption on your council tax bill are separate issues. Council tax benefit is a public fund but qualifying for a discount is not.
