Council tax liability order (paid off) — any impact on ILR?

Post by tbgnlk » Sun Aug 02, 2026 12:17 am

Hi everyone,

I'm on a Skilled Worker visa and will be applying for ILR in a few years. In 2025 I missed council tax payments and the council got a liability order against me. It went to enforcement agents, but I paid everything off in full (including fees) soon after getting the enforcement notice. Account is fully settled now.

Has anyone been through ILR with a paid liability order in their past? Did you declare it on the application, and did it cause any problems?

Planning to get a written settlement confirmation from the council to keep on file. Anything else I should do?

Thanks!
