In-country switching doubt

Post by dharam sankat » Wed Jul 28, 2004 4:41 pm

Hello experts,

Can one switch from a dependent spouse visa to HSMP? If so, what are the important criteria that Home Office will check for?

Thanks

You can switch - but please check recent HO announcement at www.workingintheuk.gov.uk

You must satisfy the HSMP criteria!!

If you intend to apply then better act fast as the qualifying criteria will be tightened/toughened pretty soon (most likely Autumn - 2004)
Where there is a will there is a way.

The no-switching rules are still not in force.

Switching to HSMP is currently allowed in any category (excluding visit visa), but from Oct 1, 2004 switching to HSMP will be restricted to:-

1) Work permit holders; or
2) graduated students; or
3) working holidaymakers; or
4) postgraduate doctors or dentists or trainee general practitioners.
