County Court Judgement - British Citizenship

Post by taylondon » Wed Sep 15, 2010 2:45 pm

I did have a disagreement with a bank over a loan back in 2003. I asked them to go to court and get sorted it out.
The court made a decision so there was a county court judgement (CCJ) registered against my name in March 2004.
I am aware this stays on register for 6 years.

Would this effect my British Citizenship application I will be submitting in coming months? There is a question on the application form asking '' have you had a criminal or civil proceedings against you''
and I believe CCJ is a civil proceedings?
would I answer this question yes or no?

I checked the www.trustonline.org.uk and there was nothing registered against my name so it must have been dropped after 6 years time.
And I also checked my credit file online and there was nothing there either.

thanks

Did you say yes or no?

I got the same problem as I got a county court judgment for £250 unpaid amount and i have cleared it recently, but it will be registered as 'satisfied' so will it affect my citizenship application?
