Covering letter

I was in UK from 03/2011 to 04/2018 due to misplaced biometric details my file was invalid i been to court got refused and I decided to go back to home town. After 16 months i got CAS from university do i need to explain everything in brief to home office or just simple covering letter with appeal number ..

Guide me asap

The form asks about your previous applications, including all the relevant details they need.
