**** COVID-19 Hotel quarantine for visitors in Scotland

Specifically Scotland

- On Feb 9th 2021 The bbc posted a news of UK implementing the hotel quarantine for 10 days to the visitors depending on the state individual decision

England : Only travellers from 33 red list (high risk covid variant) counties would be quarantined in a hotel paying a lumpsum of £1750 for 10 days with 2 tests (2nd & 10th day)

Scotland: Scottish gov decided each and every international traveller arriving in Scotland will be hotel quarantined for 10 days paying a lumpsum of £1750 with 2 tests (2nd & 10th day)

My friends parents were about to travel to Scotland on 21st Feb 2021 due to the fact to help her with her delivery since she is due in March 15th. The visa application when they applied under a category tourist-family visit visa. Because few of my friends who had applied under family visit for delivery got their visas rejected few times because of the suspicion of parents not going back to India. Hence they applied for tourist-family visit visa.

Now the UK has strictly mentioned only essential travel (medical appt, education and work). I was wondering anyone could shed some light on this issue. They still wish to travel to help their daughter and only worried about the visa category now. Anyone has any idea?

I believe this refers to travel out of the UK - i.e. not allowed unless for the reasons you mentioned.
