Criminal immigration matter

Hi All,
Please help!

My fiance is currently coming to the end of serving a sentance for a durgs offence. the case was quiet complex with lots of ppl involved and all pointing the finger at one another.

He is not a british national and was arrested before his visa expired.
I have been with him for at least 2 years before he was arrested and supported him since through prision.

Does anyone know of any good immigration solicitors willing to take the case on with legal aid?
I myself am a british national born in the uk, and have no other family to support me apart from my fiance. My family have disowned me and even beaten me up for being with him!

This issue is making me very anxious and depressed and would appreciate it if someone could give me some advice.
My finace has had death threats sent to him in prision from the ppl that he was in court with stating that they are waiting for him back home to deal with this matter.

My quality of life is next to nothing with all this worry.

If his sentence (not the length of time he has served, the sentence he was given by the court) was 12 months or more, UKBA will probably give notice that they will raise a Deportation Order against him.

His options may vary, depending on his nationality and other factors. If you can not afford a solicitor, in the first instance you could try the Immigration Advisory Service. - http://www.iasuk.org/home.aspx - at least they should give you some idea of what action might be taken.

His sentance was 12 years which he has served 5 and half.
The judge did not impose a deportation order at time of sentancing, so do you think ukba will do this automatically.
I have tried contacting the ias but they really dont wanna listen or help in this matter.

That is a very very long sentence for a very very serious crime.

what is your partners immigration status in the UK? What is his nationality? Does he have any family or children in the UK?

Criminal judges do not make deportation orders they only recmmend them. Given the length of the sentence and seriousness of the offence ukba will almost certainly make a decision to deport him once he is near the end of the sentence or once he has completed the sentence and has been moved to immigration detention. He does need to seek legal advice although there is little a solicitor can do before ukba makes the decision or indicates that they are considering to do so.

His only immigration status is that he will be married to me in a couple of months time, also he had a valid work permit visa before he was arrested but could not renew this as he was in custody. He is a pakistani national.
He has no family here or in pakistan apart from myself.
