Criminal overseas check switching from graduate visa

Post by Mohamed88 » Thu Dec 21, 2023 10:29 pm

Can I please confirm that I wouldn't need overseas criminal check for my health and care worker visa ( occupational therapist) as I am applying from inside UK? As far as I understand this is when you are applying from abroad for entry clearance, while I will be applying for leave to remain / permission to stay.

I am already with my employer for 8 months now (graduate visa) on a permanent contract but when the HR emailed me the COS she advised that I would need to provide overseas check with my application.

Just noticed that from UK guidance criminal overseas check" When a certificate of sponsorship is issued, an applicant applying for entry clearance in the Skilled Worker route will be informed by their sponsor whether they will be required to provide a criminal record certificate."

So she may have got the message when she applied for the COS which is confusing. If it help, COS tier and category: skilled worker ( graduate in tier 4/ student route switching to skilled worker).
