Damaged Passport - Urgent - Please help.

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me with this query of mine.

I am holding a Tier 1 Post Study Work visa which is due to expire end of May 2010. I will be having an appointment in the Croydon Home Office next week to apply for the Tier 1 General visa.

I recently have water damaged my passport (about a month ago), and have already received a new one from my embassy. My visa is still in my old passport and have not been transferred to my new passport. As I have received a new passport, my old passport is now cancelled but still in my possession.

Does anyone know if there would be any problems with my application for the Tier 1 General visa? Should I put in a note or cover letter to explain why my new passport has no visa in it?

I have checked on the UKBA website, which talks about not needing to transfer visas from expired passports to new passports. Does anyone know if this applies to damaged passports too?

When going for your appointment make sure that you have both passports and also in the application form they do require to know if you have more then one passport including your old one and if you cannot provide your old passport you will have to give them a reason * if lost or stolen a police report etc

As far as your query is concern it does not matter if you have not transferred your current visa to your new passport just make sure to take both passports to HO.
