Date of Award/Final Exam Board Date

I just need a second opinion on the following issue,

According to HO

How we define the date of award

"The date on which you were first notified in writing, by the awarding institution, that the qualification has been awarded is the date on which the qualification was obtained (known as the date of award)."

We all know that DTAE OF AWARD and FINAL EXAM BOARD DATE is the same. The DATE OF AWARD is also shown on u degree certificate.

Now the question is HO saying that DTE OF AWARD is wen the university notifies the applicant that qualification has been awarded. Are (HO) they saying the date they (UNI) wrote the letter or the final exam board date mentioned in the letter. For example, i received a letter on the 29th June 2009 and in the letter it says that examiners finalised my award on the 17th June 2009. So wat wud be the DATE OF AWARD.

All major university have to have a generis PSW letter according to the instructions of HO, so all major university should have an understanding first of all how to write that letter and 2ndly what to include in it.

Thnx for u reply. I have inquired about the date and the uni said that the 29th June is just the posting date of the letter. In the letter 17th June is the date of award.

according to that your date of award 17th of june coz thats the date when they awarded the qualification
