DATE OF BIRTH - MISMATCH FROM PASSPORT AND BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Post by chiraju » Thu Oct 18, 2007 9:18 am

Hi All,

Thanks for your time to look at my request and answering ....

I need to apply for my HSMP, I am in UK on a workpermit. I have all the documents but I have a problem.

I have my birth certificate with my DOB as 28 / June / 1978 but in all my official records like passport, my indian driving license, all my uk correspondence are with my DOB 28 / Nov / 1977. So what I need to do? If I provide my birth certificate will there be any problem???? or do you recommend to give my indian driving license as my age proof?

If I use my birth certificate for my age proof - then I am on 29 years till next year June 28
Else I have very little time i,e; till next month 28th ....

Please let me know ....

Thanks a lot in advance ...

Cheers

Hi Chiraju,

This is a very tricky situation. You can't ignore your official document like Passport and Driving license. However you can definitely ignore your birth certificate.

What I would do, If i were you, is to simple not produce the BC and indeed go ahead with the application with your passport and your Indian Driving License.

Though, I am very curious, I am not going to the extent to ask you the reason for this difference.
I am a bit surprised that your passport was indeed issued with an incorrect brith date.

Anyways

Cheers

Yes your full indian driving license will be accepted. So don't worry about it.

On the basis of your passport you can get an amended birth certificate. For the time being indian driving license would serve the purpose but in the longer run it would be appropriate to have amended birth certificate which should be a routine process.
