Death Taxes

Post by Birtie » Sun Jul 15, 2007 8:30 pm

I am a UK citizen living and working in the US on a Green Card, and I am married to a US citizen. We intend to continue with this situation.
However, in a recent conversation, another Brit told me that my wife could suffer server financial penalties when I die, and the only way around this would be for me to take out US citizenship.
I assume as a spouse she would not be subject to any IHT in the US or the UK, so are there any other issues that I should be aware of that could impact either of us in this situation?
Thank-you
