Death while visit in UK

hello all,

One of my friends father passed away this morning due to heart attack. He was on visit visa, since march 06 (just 3 weeks) and got admitted in NHS last week.

We are completely novice on this matters, and any thoughts appreciated.

a. Can his body cremated here?
b. Or is mandatory that we need to take him back to home country, as he was a visitor.
c. Do we have to inform HO?

AIUI, the Immigration Rules simply cease to apply once the person has died, and your friend can deal with his father's death in exactly the same way as any other death that takes place in UK. I think it would be sensible to advise the Home Office, perhaps sending a photocopy of the death certificate, together with copies of the relevant pages from his late father's passport (ie the personal details page, and the page with the visa/admission stamp...)
