No Decision for 2 weeks

Post by hsmp_distressed » Tue Jul 31, 2007 6:34 am

Hello Guys,
My application was received by HO on July 1st and till now no decision. This is my 2nd (and probably the last) try at HSMP. I called up HO last week and my case was with a case worker and again called up yesterday and the lady on phone told me the same thing. I am not sure what might be taking so long and if there is anything that I could do to help my case. Here are the documents I sent:
1. Qualifications: MS original degree certificate
2. Age: Original birth certificate
3. Earnings: April 1, 2006-March 31, 2007 payslips + IT Proof + Letter from employer + original bank statements
4. English language credentials

On the face of it, does not look complicated. But I might be missing something. Any ideas, people? Feeling a bit under the nerves right now.

Hi Dist,

What are the first 4 digits of your reference number? People with reference No. starting 222X have started getting decisions.

It would be wise to keep an eye on your mail-box. There have been cases where the customer-representative's system does not have the latest status. Applicants are told that the case is under-consideration and the next day they receive the papers at their door-steps (through airmail).

Next time you call HO, try getting to your case worker. That will really help.

Wish you the best!

Regards,
CD

Dear Distressed!

All you need to do is wait and be calm. the processing time is normally 12-14 weeks. and for you its been only 2 weeks... i know a guy whose case is still awaiting decision and crossed 20 weeks.

so distressed dont be distressed~ you have bright chances of getting an approval as long as all the originals you sent fetch you 75+ points :)

I wish you best luck with your app.

cheers n beers :)

but i would still second CDs suggestion... tracking!

As others have said, your case is definitely not unusual.

However if you want to submit a request for Urgent Treatment to expedite the caseworker's review of your application, download the Request for Urgent Treatment form from the same website where you got the HSMP form and FAX it (FAX not postal mail!!!) it to the fax number stated on the website where you can get the form.

Evidence different in the 2nd attempt: case for concern?

Post by hsmp_distressed » Tue Jul 31, 2007 5:29 pm

Hello Everyone,
Thanks so much for the encouraging and comforting words. This is my 2nd attempt at HSMP and my reference number starts with 212***. I have 1 question for you all -- the evidence I gave the 2nd time round is different from the ones I gave the first time round. For e.g. my earnings period for the previous time round was Jan-Dec 2006 while in my 2nd attempt it was Apr06-Mar07. Is that fine? I tried this to make my case a little stronger, since giving income tax return proof helps. Should this go against me?

Best Regards

i have a doubt since guidelines clearly says that past earnings should be claimed within 15 months prior to your application date.

you said your application reached in July and thats the 16th month as you are claiming from April 06 to march 07. No intention to worry you, but now even I am interested in the outcome of your case. keep us posted.

I hope the way i calculated is wrong!

Earnings clarification for ~J~

Post by hsmp_distressed » Wed Aug 01, 2007 6:42 am

I had thought of this. The Application reached HO on July 1. The previous 15 months are: Apr 2006 -- Mar 2007 (12) + Apr 2007 -- Jun 2007 (3). You cannot be paid July's salary till July end. Very clearly I am within the 15 month time frame. I on purpose did this since the Apr 06 -- Mar 07 is the strongest case for earnings as its easy to show income tax returns for the whole period.

Let me know in case of any other questions.
