Hi,
After 5 years of stay in the UK with Tier 2 general visa, and becoming eligible for the ILR, I completed my online application in late 2020 with the biometric interview done in Feb. 2021. After nearly two years I have not received any responses. I have contacted the home office through my MP, but they keep saying that they are awaiting answers from “outside” offices, but I can’t imagine any enquiry could take that long. I have been unable to travel ever since, with my family seriously ill in the home country, and I let the Home office know about all these issues, with medical documents attached. I mentioned that my mum has passed away and I am the only one who can look after my ill father. They mentioned that they have received the documents but can’t speed it up. I had a tough separation process here, that led to civil then criminal court with a resulting restraining order, as a means to settle the case, which I accepted as I was told is never a criminal record. Despite these issues, we reached a consensus over the fate of our son. Does anyone know what I should do next? The MP has contacted the Home Office already more than 10 times with no success. Should I consider taking them to the court? My career, mental health, and reputation have been severely damaged due to the consequences of such a long delay.
Thank you, Imran
