Delay in obtaining entry clearance.

Post by vul » Sun Aug 26, 2007 4:14 pm

I successfully obtained my HSMP 6 months ago but failed to apply for entry clearance before 6 months had passed since the issuing of the permit (missed it by one week). The reason was simple oversight, I extended my contract with my current Austria employer and had not read the letter carefully enough to realize I had a limited time to apply for the entry visa.

The visa website states that the letter maybe re-issued if they are provided with evidence explaining the reason for the delay and confirmation of an entry clearance interview date.

I don't think my reason will be considered valid but I was wondering if anyone out there has heard of a similar case and can confirm I am out of luck.

I dont think it will be possible for you to get the letter revalidated in absence of a credible reason. Oversight does not seem to be one, atleast.

Hope someone who has faced similar situation might advise.

kind regards,
