Dependant child of an ILR holder

Post by Shamirm » Thu Dec 05, 2024 1:31 pm

Apologies if it has been asked before but I couldn't find a specific answer.

My child was born outside the UK in 2017 and came to the UK in three+ years ago. I have received my ILR in March 2024 and plan to apply for British citizenship. My partner is still on dependant visa and will obtain ILR in November 2027.

Could my son qualify for the ILR and/or Citizenship with me or would he have to wait until my partner receives ILR in 2027?

Thank you in advance.

Such a child can only settle when your partner does. They also do not have any automatic entitlement to British citizenship.
