dependant child over 18, ILR

I entered UK on work permit wiTth my family in june 2003, my son was 16 at the time and entered as dependant. we are going to apply for ILR in may this year. my son is now 20. how do i apply for ILR for him and do they create problem. he is studying in uni.
thanks for any reply and help.
