Dependant Citizenship Application

Hello all,

I wonder if you could please assist me with my enquiry.

I currently hold an Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR since 2015) and my wife and our 6 year old daughter are on spouse and dependant visa .

They are both due to apply for ILR as they've both been in the country since August 2018. Please note we've had to do second spouse and dependant visa extension to make up for the 5 year settlement as my wife and daughter entered UK a bit late. Their current visa is due to expire in October 2025.

As they're both due for ILR now, i would like to ask if it is possible for my wife to apply for ILR alone now and in a year's time apply for her British Citizenship application and once her citizenship application is granted my daughter can then apply for her British Citizenship?

This mean our daughter will not be applying for ILR, but will be applying for British Citizenship next year once my wife has been granted her citizenship and I (Husband) will be on ILR.

I would like to know if this is possible please.

Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Children born outside the UK are expected to hold ILR for MN1 application.

Many thanks for your response, much appreciated. In that case, I guess we have no choice than for my wife and daughter to apply for ILR at the same time
