Dependent of Tier1(PSW) convert to Student?????

Hi All,

My friend's wife is in U.K as a Dependent of Tier1(PSW).Her husband's psw visa is going to be expired after 8 months.Meanwhile can she convert herself as a student by getting an admission in the college/university and her husband could live here as her dependent before the expiry of Visa.
Is it possible like that? does she need to go back to home country for entry clearance?

She can't convert to a student status in the UK but can go back to her home country for entry clearance. When she is approved and move to the UK, her husband can convert from being a student to a dependant.
