US H4 dependent Visa is leave/relieving letter mandatory

Myself + spouse have Visa stamping next week and i need a clarification regarding the dependent Visa mandatory documents.
I am working in company X and my spouse in company Y and i have applied for h1B and h4 visas respectively.
My company says that spouse leave letter/relieving letter needs to be taken for the interview. She is planning to resign only after the visa Stamping is successful. Can someone clarify whether dependent 's leave letter/relieving letter is a mandatory document for dependent h4 Visa stamping?
