Dependent Visa Questions

Post by go-fish » Mon Dec 14, 2009 3:18 am

I have a couple of questions. My wife and I got recently married. She works in UK on work permit. I am going to apply for a dependent visa:

1) We have our marriage certificate, however, we don't have spouse names on our passports. Can I still apply for dependent visa?

2) Do I need to apply for a fresh visa stamp, everytime she changes jobs on work permit?

Hi go-fish,

Please refer to the guidance notes for dependant applications below, you might find the answer to your first question there.

As for your second question, I think yes, each time your wife changes her employer she would need to make a fresh visa application. Which obviously includes the section for dependant applications as well.

This basically means that you will need to send your passport along for processing.

Hope this helps.

If she's currently a work permit (not tier 2) holder, then see What do my dependants need to make an application?
