Dependents on work permit UK

Hi,
I have got work permit to UK for 6 months..multiple entry type.
Can I apply for dependent's visa for spouse and child on this work permit?
or I was told that I should for tourist visa only for dependents..please advice me.
Work permit I got it thru a company in India.

I don't think WP for 6 months will qualify for a dependent visa. As for a dependent visa you need to provide last six months payslips and bank statements from UK to prove that you can accomodate and support your family without recourse to public funds.
