Diff in dates on WP letter & LTR stamp

Hi everyone,

I came across this web site recently and found it very interesting and informative. I learned about so many new immigration issues and there solutions.
I also have a problem. Could anyone please advise on following issue:

I am on a Work Permit (WP) since Feb 2004 and will complete my five years in Feb 09. As I understand after reading few topics on this website that I will be eligible to apply ILR 28 days before my LTR runs out.

My problem is, when I got my work permit back in 2004, HO got spellings of my name wrong. My solicitor requested HO to correct the spellings. HO corrected my name and sent another WP letter in May 04. This had caused a difference in date on my LTR stamp (Feb04) on my passport and date on the WP letter (May04).

1. Could someone please tell me when should I apply for my ILR?

2. Since my WP letter has May 04 date, will HO count my five years from then only?

3. Somebody advised me that I should apply for the new WP sticker, since I had the old LTR stamp. I am not sure whether applying for WP sticker will help. Please advise?

Hi, I think the date of the fisrt issue of the wp in feb is the date you need. the date on the letter was just the date the correction/ammendment of the spelling mistake of your name was rectified. Hope this help.
