Yes it does exist, you may google it.

Can someone help to clearify this please.

Hi daddy,

first of all, I recommend changing the title of the thread to something more meaningful such as "What´s the difference between 2004/38/EC and 2004/58/EC?".

I was wondering the same before, and just naively thought it´s a spelling mistake which propagated...

However, I guess that´s not the correct answer...?

Would also love to find out, guessing it´s some judicial detail.

Let´s see if someone has a good explanation :)

Regards,
Christian

If you know that you can google it why don't you just read what 2004/58/EC is about? Hint: pharmaceuticals.

There is no need to be rude, better not reply me and keep your disdain to yourself.
If I have found out the difference, I would have not posted this topic.

You read too much into a simple question. No need to insinuate ulterior motifs.

And to come to the bottom of this confusion I investigated a little more: the English version of the Directive 2004/38/EC was obviously "misnumbered" in the original English version, even in a following corrigendum. A corrigendum to the corrigendum clarifies this. The real 2004/58/EC is about pharmaceuticals as pointed out.

Actually I think the original Directive 2004/38/EC was correctly numbered. Then there was a correction, that for some reason was misnumbered. How they could have done that, and not caught their mistake, is beyond me.

The directive is really called Directive 2004/38/EC. Accept no substitutes!
