DIRECTIVE 2004/38/EC: EU travel if your spouse is UK citizen

Post by HAMSAVIJAY » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:32 pm

Hi,
I've a situation that say my wife gets her British Passport, whether I (currently on ILR with Indian passport) as a member of EEA family can travel without visa to EU.

I've been reading the below link: http://ec.europa.eu/justice_home/fsj/ci ... ent_en.htm

But its still did not clear mention whether "Family member of EEA national" should also be an EEA national. I doubt for my case (as a non-EEA national), I still need to apply for visa. But, though in this directive it has mentioned such visas shall be issued free-of-charge as a spouce of EEA national.

Does anyone come across this situation and has benefited?

Also, some useful thoughts at http://eumovement.wordpress.com/directive-200438ec/
