discretionary leave to remain - extension timeline!!!!

Post by danieljohns » Mon Feb 20, 2012 11:46 pm

HI everyone,

this this the very first time of me being on any kind of forum or blog, hope someone can answer my question.

i came to UK in 2000 and joined my already settled british family (mum, dad, sister and rest of full family) i wen college her, uni here and just finished my MBA 2 years ago. im married to a british citizen and have 2 kids.

i was granted a discretionary leave to remain before my marriage in june 2009, which expired in nov 2011. when phoned the home office the said to fill in HPDL application for extension and send it, and did exactly the same but was shocked to get my application back on 6 jan 2012 after 7 weeks i sent it to say it was an invalid application as i used the wrong form. i was spouse to use FLR O form for extension as i didnt get discretionary leave on asylum basis but on outside the immigration rules basis. now i have sent an application again with FLR O form and 550 fee since 23rd jan 2012 and got the acknowledgement letter 5 later for it too.... since then nothing, i know its been only 4 weeks but any idea as to how long it takes to get a decision...???

i havnt applied for spouse visa or registered my wedding as i never thought of it nor it came to my head, nor needed to... any help as with the time line may help me relax as due to nature of business i have to travel a lot as well and im stuck for now.

i hope i made some sense to get an answer.

Thanks
