Dispute with House Letting Agents - Will it affect my visa?

Post by AshwathCR » Sat Oct 31, 2009 12:04 pm

Hello Seniors,

I have a dispute with 'Parkers Letting Agents' regarding my house deposit.
They have deducted lot of money with un-justifiable 'check-out report' when we ( me & my flatmate) ended an year old letting contract with them for a 2 bed flat. The house contract was in my name.

The disputed amount ( deductions which I have not agreed) is with the TDS ( Tenancy Deposit Scheme), but they have credited the remaining amount.

And I was on HSMP and got extended to Tier-1 for 3 more years recently.
Will this affect my visa when I apply for ILR or whatever?

Please advice ... Your inputs are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ashwath

Ashwath,
This will not affect your any Home Office matter(Tier-1,extension, ILR or citizenship) unless you are convicted by court (which you will not as you seems to be victim here ;-) )

Nothing to worry about. But keep fighting with the Agent to recover your money. Apart from the TDS also contact the Ombudsman to air your grievance.

Thank you so much for your replies ... I am relieved now ...

Yes, I have been victimized by the 'Parkers Lettings' ... I could never imagine that the house letting agents in UK were so annoying and highly skilled in deception !!

I have approached the 'Customer Adviser Bureau' ... Let me see how will they handle my case.

Many thanks for your inputs again ...

Kind Regards,
Ashwath
