divorces but need some help thanks

Post by thedeaglekid » Sat Jan 11, 2014 10:46 pm

Hi Everyone!

I'm new so please forgive me if this is the wrong section

I am a British citizen and got married to a girl in Pakistan (she is a Pakistan Citizen)... I applied for her Visa and it was declined on the bases of not subsisting marriage... The appeal happened and was also declined... Since then our relationship has broken down and I have divorced her the Islamic way with the accordance to the Pakistan Law... My Question is this because her visa was not granted would I or would I not need to carry out a decree absolute in UK??? Is it recognised as married in UK??? I have met someone else who is a UK citizen since then and want to live my life happy and married without the past catching up to me again.

Many Thanks all

Your divorce won't be recognised unless it was the 'full' talaq:

See section 6.1.
