Do I Need to Declare Returned Malaysian Visa Application (No Refusal) on Future UK Visa Forms?

Post by thebanker242 » Wed Jun 04, 2025 4:48 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm an Indian citizen currently living in the UK. Recently, I applied for a Malaysian tourist visa at the Malaysian High Commission in London. However, when I went to collect my passport the next day, it was returned along with a full refund.

The staff explained verbally that my application was returned (not processed) because Indian citizens are exempt from needing a visa to enter Malaysia until 31 December 2026. There was no refusal letter, and the only written note was a sticky note on my passport saying, “India no visa until 31 December 2026.”

My question is: Do I need to declare this on future UK visa applications, particularly where they ask about visa refusals or problems with immigration applications?

To clarify, I didn’t receive any written refusal, and it seems my application was returned due to the exemption policy, not because of any issue with my application.

Would really appreciate guidance from anyone with experience or knowledge about how this should be handled in the context of UK visa declarations.

Thanks in advance!
