Doctor in Training Restriction placed on extended Tier 1

Post by lyn316 » Wed Sep 28, 2011 3:51 pm

Hi all,

I am doctor in training, and I have recently applied for an extension of my Tier 1 (General) Migrant Visa. My previous visa runs out the end of this year and has no restriction to work as a doctor in training, and am currently in a training programme. I have submitted letter from the deanery to explain that I am in a training scheme for 5 years. However the extension I have been granted has a doctor in training restricted placed on me.

As far as I understand, I have fulfilled all the criteria, and should not have a restriction placed on my extended visa.

Any advice is most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Without you saying what evidence you provided to fulfill the criteria, it's not going to be possible to comment in a meaningful way.

I have submitted a letter from the NHS trust that I am working for stating that I am currently working in a an approved training post- as stated on the guidance's Annex A.

Hope this helps.

When were you appointed to this training post?

I was offered this training post in April this year and officially started in august 2011. I made my application in person in September . So I am already in the training post at the time of application.

And to add that when I was offered the post in April I was also on a tier 1 visa with no restrictions.

lyn316 the same has just happened to me (sent my letter, in a training post, previously no restrictions) - were you able to get it resolved? I'm very worried!

Did anyone manage to sort this problem out? I can't see any follow-up to this problem.
