Documents to bring spouse

Post by Seekinghelp1111 » Thu Dec 29, 2011 8:13 pm

Dear all ,

I would really like your help. I am 29, my fiance 35. I met my fiance in 2008 but we did not become engaged until 2010 whilst on holiday. We are planning to marry early in 2012 so we can apply for his visa to come here

I really need your help with the documents. I am working and have 6 months pay slips. Do these have to be certified/notarised? can I just send the original document? I also have substantial savings. He has only a small amount 2 K. Will my internet banking statements be suffice or do I need to ask the bank to provide me with some special statements. Can I atleast use my internet banking to prove that these are consistent funds?

I live with my mother and brother in her 3 bed house which she owns. What documents do we need to provide to say he can live here? I know we need pics of the room , her mortgage payments and maybe some bill payments? Do we need anything else? Do we need to get someone round to inspect the house?

I am also confused about the whole application process.
I gather my fiance has to fill in the application form and pay the fee(after we marry) but where does he take all the documents? Does he take these to the British embassy in his country? WIll they give him a date to take them or does he just take them after filling the form online? Is there always an interview and what if I cannot attend due to work circumstance.

This is a list of the documents I think we will send. Please let me know if you can think of anything we are missing.

ME
Letter about our circumstances/relationship (sponser letter) 2xa4 sides
My 6 months pay slips(original)
My work contract(original)
My cv
My university degree (photocopy)
My savings (most recent - I will ask bank to stamp a print out)
My last 6 months e- bank account statements
Letter from mother about house/accomodation
My birth certificate (photocopy)
My passport copy ( certified, right?)
My P60 (shoud this be notarised)

HIM
His savings
His CV
His degree cert
His english test cert
He has been unemployed for 6 months therefore no work contract
2x pics of himself

US
Few pictures(can these just be print offs from digital pics?)
Marriage cert (original)
Flight tickets, stays in hotels together
Wedding pics/bills.
Emails/skype calls/phone bills

Can you think of anything else?
I'm most confused about what needs to notarised/certified
