Documents-help???

Post by SublimeD » Wed Jun 02, 2004 6:32 pm

Hi there!

Is it necessary to make notarial legalization for all the documents' copies if there is no way to supply the originals?
Such as:
Diploma,Contract with employer, etc.

Yes you must submit notarised/ certified copies of the originals but then that means you have the originals - why not send them in? Reading the guidance leaflet would answer this question as well as many others you are likely to have. Note that where notarised/ certified copies are received from a 'high fraud' designated country the HSMP Team will refer all documentation back to the local British Diplomatic Post for further investigation/ authentication severely delaying processing of your application.

Yes, I have the originals but I could not send them because they are my diploma, my healht insurance (in order to prove the common address with my girlfriend), previous Work Permit visas to UK (for the same reason)... How could I send the originals? What idf I got ill tomorow without healt insurance document?... Any others documents which are not so important for me I will send in original. But I cannot send all of them.
What advice can you give me?

With all due respect/ IMHO the reasons you give for not submitting originals are fairly weak.

In the case of the health insurance I am sure the relevant company will honour any claims subject to your policy being valid as opposed to the existence or otherwise of an original certificate in your possesion. You can make copies for your records or ask the insuring company to send you a fresh set of original documentation if need be.

Your concern seems to centre around losing your documents - arrange for a reputable courier to deliver and collect your paper work to and from the UK..the board is full of success stories of HSMP applicants who have done the same and I am yet to hear anyone say the HSMP Team has lost their paperwork.

If you are still nervous about sending originals then certify/ notarise the documents but note my comment on 'high fraud' designated countries - this may be or may not be an issue for you depending on the source of your supporting documentation.

ok, thank you very much! I will send them in original if somebody from HO could be so suspicious just because I come from Bulgaria. And I will read about the way of most safety delivery :)

Given the recent scandal over the European Community Association Agreement (ECAA) scheme involving Bulgarian and Romanian applicants which resulted in the eventual resignation of the Immigration Minister I would strongly advice you to submit original documents.
