Does non EEA family member with settled status qualify for naturalisation 6 years using treaty rights?

Post by Oct2919 » Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:58 pm

Hello respected members and moderators I have been married to EEA citizen for 6 years but been granted settled status October 2019 as I have read that if you have been using treaty rights for 6 years and you have settled status you are eligible for naturalisation because you were immigration free after 5 years in uk according to EU law As a reference a friend of mine applied through that route last years before completion of his 1 year with ILR.
Your expert opinion is appropriated.
TIA

The requirement is to hold settled status for the full 12 months before you are eligible to apply. The only time this is not required is if you are married to a British citizen.
