Does HM Passport Office accept Royal Mail Special deliveries on a Saturday?

Hi there,
I was planning to post the requested physical documents (naturalisation certificate, current passport etc) for my First British Adult Passport online application tomorrow (Friday) via Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day before 1pm.

It's going to the passport office in Hemel Hempstead.

- Does anyone know if they accept deliveries on a Saturday? Or will it arrive there on the Monday before 1pm?
- Also, I believe one can pay an extra charge for a delivery guaranteed on a Saturday. There is no point paying that if the passport office doesn't take deliveries on a Saturday. It'd be a waste of money.

Interesting question - are you concerned about something?
I have had other (non-HMPO) Special Mail delivered on Saturdays even though I declined Saturday delivery premium!
I would hope HMPO work at the weekend ....

Personally I wouldn't hope for it - I would just wait until Monday and post documents then to have the guarantee they will be received on Tuesday.

Why would you expect them to work on the weekend?

I would presume that there is a minimal crisis team that is on-duty over weekends, in case there is a crisis with passport and identity services.

But I would not expect normal services to be open over the weekend.

I agree with @contorted_svy that the OP should send the items over on Monday, for it to be delivered on Tuesday.
