Earning Power

Post by Alagomeji » Fri Oct 29, 2004 1:18 pm

out of mere curiousity, I have to ask, why doesn't anyone utilise the earning power section? Most people seem to go for the educational qualifications instead. i tell you, if I had a masters, i would probably be peaking at 90 instead of a mere 75 points.

Whats your point? the answer to that is pple do go for earning points and you will easily get someone who will also say "if i earned £40000 i would be peaking at over 90 points"

Hmm... No point. Just wondering whether there was something I should know.

my personal case is i'm in the uk with a work permit, I acepted the job offer for less than the market salary because i wanted to move here, so I'm not earning as much as I could.....so earning power won't be one of the big ones for me.....

sorry i was wasnt very clear there. i meant that there are a lot of people who do claim earning points. if you check thruogh the posts you will find that a lot of the guys do claim some level of points on their earning power. but like try-one said some pple are working in jobs which pay below market rates. another thing is that people in some countries who are really earning a lot of money are not interested in moving as they are already leaving good lifestyles in their home countries.
a point to note is that the experience points could be said to be the "easiest" to claim, as quite a lot of the pple here have been working for more than 5 years and if one of those years was at senior level, you already have 50points in the bag, add another 15 points for your degree and you are home and dry. its a bit harder for those above 28 of course so you will find that those over 28 will probably spread out more
