Earnings Doubt

I joined a new company on Dec31 2007. I did not receive salary for that day in december.Instead I received along with the month of January.in my payslip for january 2008 ,the number of working days in given as 32(31 in Jan + 1 in Dec).

So how can I calculate the previous earnings for month of January 08 ?I am confused plz help me

Is stated on your payslips as the working days to be 32.. I mean that includes sundays as well. Are you sure that on the payslip, the number of working days are stated and mentioned to be 32.

S very much..Jan 08 payslip says "Number of working days: 32"

Can you explain further
a) what is your claim period
b) what about the payslip you received for December what is mentioned there

I joined a new company ,for which I am currently working , on Dec 31,07.
I received the salary for this one day(dec 31,07) along with my Jan 08 payslip.Hence the number of working days for Jan 08 which normally reflects as 31 now shows 32(Dec 31+ jan 1 to Jan 31).

Now since my ClaimPeriod is from Jan01,08 to Dec 31,08, I am confused as what will the case worker think about the number of working days:32 in my Jan 08 payslip.Also I dont know how to substantiate it.

Read the guidelines carefully point# 84 it states

If the applicant claims for the period of earnings that is more than 12 months we will assess the most recent period of 12 months which he/she has provided evidence.

There are couple of things you can do in this case,
a) leave it the way it is, and be sure that you qualify by prorating your January salary for 31 days
b) Change your claim amount from 1st jan to 31st dec and be sure to include an explanation in the covering letter for your earnings.

I would prefer the later.

Go with (1) above. However if you are too concerned then wait for a few more days and claim for Feb1 2008 to 31 Jan 2009.
