EEA Applications

Post by Ismoil » Sat Oct 22, 2011 7:51 pm

Hi All

I am new to this site therefore not sure whether i am writing in right place. My question is: I have been issued a RC on the basis of unmarried partnership with my ex gf in 2009 then i got married to my current wife in 2011(also an EEa citizen exercising treaty right in the UK), so the question is will i qualify for PR five years from the date of my first RC issued or does the time resets when i got married to someone else and do i have to wait 5 years from the time of my marriage. Thanks alot

If you were accepted as unmarried partner and your relationship ends, so does you family member status. Did you apply for a new RC since your marriage?

Zero means when you got married to your second eea spouse

Yes, so does my 5 year residence starts again from the date of my new marriage? Or will it just simply adds to my previous residence as eu partner? i.e, 2 years as unmarried partner of eu citizen+3 years as spouse of eu citizen(eu citizen- different person)

Yes. Forget about your old rc/ time spent with your ex gf

Zero starts from the date of marriage provided that your spouse was exercising treaty rights from that time.
