EEA FM applying for Mother in Law

Post by fjardiel » Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:59 am

Hello Everyone

This is my first post, I've applied for an resident permit to my Mother in Law recently and application has been rejected, stating that they have not received any evidence to prove my relationship to her.

We have sent my passport in which provide evidence that I'm an EU citizen, also my UK marriage certificate with my wife which is also an EU citizen, so this proved my link to my wife, than in order to prove my wife's link to her Mom our marriage certificate from Abroad translated by an authorized person has also been sent in which states her mother's name.

My question would be what other proof they would accept in order for it to be accepted, reason why I'm sponsoring my mother in law is because I'm the one employed as my wife looks after our kids.

And should i appeal this or just do a new application and provide further documentation once this is established what is required.

Thank you very much for any assistance.

An easier option might be that your wife applies for her mother.

Your wife should be categorised as self sufficient. The only caveat is that she should have health insurance and not claiming any benefits.
