Your child can only get british nationality if one of the parent is settled in UK or is a British national. However, you can apply his nationality either in your country or his/her mother's country. If your child gets european passport then you have to apply for his residence permit. Or you can wait until your residence card (5years) expieres and then you apply for PR and put him into your application as dependent of you. Once that done a year after your whole family can apply for british nationality.edro wrote:hi everyone

Only if he has attained PR. I.e., acquired Permanent Residence in accordance with the provisions of the Directive.edro wrote:dont they consider a 5 year residenc card holder as a settled person?
You don't have to apply for residence permit for the child, its optional. Why bother with that sticker, if it gives nothing to the EU citizen (child). Just a waste of time and nerves IMO.keshgrover wrote:[If your child gets european passport then you have to apply for his residence permit.
Once again, you don't have to go through all this process - apply for PR for a child, then wait a year etc.Or you can wait until your residence card (5years) expieres and then you apply for PR and put him into your application as dependent of you. Once that done a year after your whole family can apply for british nationality.
