EEA FP or Code 1A Stamp twists

Post by VplusJ » Sun Oct 19, 2014 5:54 pm

Hello,
I'd like to say first that this site helped us a lot with gathering information, so only a little bit left to figure out. Thanks for all contributors!
So we got here a hungarian wife (the EEA) and an american husband, first marriage for both, almost 2 yrs ago, in the Us. Came back to Hungary for a few months together and we applied for a residency card here which is still being processed and his 90 day visa-free stay is over, and the processing time for the residency card is also over in a couple of weeks.(kinda suspecting it got refused as this country is awful with paperwork) Meanwhile I, the wife got a job in the UK and he would be following me soon. So we have seen some cases where they gave the stamp at the border but not for single travelers, but together with the EAA national. Can this be accomplished on a solo mission, or do I have to be present at his arrival?
Also would it cause a problem that he has been in an EU country for longer than he was allowed to? Or they have no access to such information?
Thanks in advance V+J

What happened in Hungary is irrelevant for his entry to the UK.

He will need to show evidence for the stamp similar to what the EEA FP would require so a photocopy of the EEA passport, marriage certificate, evidence of employment for the EEA national.

There is no need to travel together but the IO might want to call the EEA national to verify the details so make sure you are reachable.
Check the FAQ before posting!
Citizenship (adults, children, passport)
EEA (EEA FP, RC, PR, Surinder Singh)

Seems simple enough, thanks for the super fast reply! I was thinking if I just send him all the original docs to bring with him. Not sure if they need the certified or normal copy, but I leave tomorrow early so can't make copies anyway. :s
Thanks for the help! x
