EEA 2 (divorce being process)+ landlord evictiction letter

Post by fatimahh » Thu Nov 21, 2013 12:26 pm

Please help!!!! i could not find similar situation in the other threads. i am an EEA 2 permit older thanks to the good advice on this forum i have now applied for tax credit and child benefit and i am getting it as my baby goes to nursery. my income is 27k + a 2000 saving (planning to use it for a master course). I have last month been issued with an eviction letter and as a friend of mine proposed that i took over his rented flat which did not require a deposit as he was moving to Manchester. So i moved there, but unfortunately he did not get the job in Manchester, so he is no more moving :( therefore i now need to find somewhere else to rent with my baby. i have use the benefit calculator provided here and the result does not say anything in respect of housing benefit, do that mean i cannot get any help :( :( . i have called the lewisham council and the lady on the phone just keep on saying with 27k you are not entitle. is that true. Can't i get at least a house i can afford with the housing association? note that i did ring the housing association in my area and they ask me to contact my local council.please please please do help
GOD BLESS!!!

If you're not entitled to housing benefit, you may be able to apply for a discretionary housing payment if you can show hardship. I suggest you go to the citizens advice bureau for further advice.

Hello Amber and everyone - sorry bothering you again, this may sound silly as i was told that i have the right to public fund. My concern is that i manage to book an appointment with the local council, but on the phone the lady did not seem sure about my RC. Please do advise me how to demonstrate that i have the right and the EEA2 give me permission to puvlic funds. What should i tell them to convince them in case the person i meet do not know much about EEA2 right?
Please Please advise me- i am in a precarious situation with my baby and do not want to delay any possibility of being rehoused.
GOD BLESS!!!

do you think it is still relevant and i should take it with me to the council?
GOD BLESS!!!
