Eea family member VISA

Post by keeronerahman » Fri Mar 01, 2019 2:47 pm

Hello everyone. I just want to ask somethings. My parents are european citizens. They both have Italian passport and they do have home office residence permit here in uk. I am here in uk already with them and i have eea family member visa and im 27 years old. I am dependent on them. I just wanna ask if what are the things that i need to do for me to stay here in uk after my 6 months visa expires. And can i still work here in uk even though im dependent on them? Thank you.

Even before the Family Permit expires, you can apply for Pre-Settled Status from 30 March - when the scheme officially opens.
The EEA FP should give you the right to work, as does Pre-Settled Status.
You can only apply for Settled Status in the current beta test phase if you have access to a compatible Android 6.0 phone with NFC and have a Biometric Residence Card or PR card, which I understand you don't have.
On a separate note - as the direct descendant of Italian citizens I think you have the right to an Italian passport be descent - you might want to investigate that.
I am not an immigration lawyer. My comments are opinions, not legal advice.
