EEA Family Permit - EEA Citizen and Non-EEA Mother

Post by Bumblebee2000 » Tue Jun 24, 2014 2:30 pm

Dear All,

I would really appreciate your help in answering some questions I have in relation to applying for an EEA Permit for my mother to join my sister and I in the UK.

My sister and I are EEA citizens and have been living and working in the UK for almost 10 years. Our mother is a Non-EEA citizen residing in Africa.

By way of background, my mother is very sick. She needs dialysis twice a week. My father is almost 90 and is looked after by his children from his first marriage who are not on speaking terms with my mother. Only one of my siblings lives in Africa but he is starting university in America shortly. The others are under 21 and study outside the country.

My mother went to visit her sister in the USA in February to recuperate after a nasty bout of illness. However, she fell really ill again and has to go to the hospital twice a week. My aunty is understandably tired and can no longer cope. Do you think it is possible for my mom to move to the UK on an EEA Permit so my sister and I can look after her?

If she can come on the EEA Permit, what do we state as her purpose of visiting? What supporting documents do you think would be helpful to provide?

Apologies for the long post. Thank you for your assistance.
