PLEASE HELPPlease can you advise me on what to do, I was married to a EU citizen, am from the comonwealth , we married in July 2003 and divorced in June 2009. I have one child with him and I am the only one caring for the child.

I sent my application to the home office in september 2008 and received a letter in a months time acknowledging receipt. I never heard anything from them. Since then I have posted my current payslips and my divorce papers to them in May 2009. I sent my decree absolute and a letter to them on the 18th June 2009 advising that I have to go home cos my dad is ill and need to attend brother' funeral. I heard nothing so I sent a complain to the home office and to my MP's on the 18/07/2009. I had a reply from my MP's that the home office advised that they are dealing with it and I can come for my empty pasport if I want to travel and get a visa from my country when am coming back.
At the moment I have heard that some people's passports are being returned to them empty when they send a complaint. I have already sent a complaint in July 09 to the home office and my MP but have heard nothing apart from the letters they sent to my MP saying that they are still working on it. They told me if I want my pasport to travel I can come for it (empty) and apply for a visa if am coming back. Please did they process yours when you sent the complaint or what.
At the moment the inland revenue has stopped my tax credit because they say am not entitiled until the home office make thier descion since am divorced. Please help. Thanks
Cilla.
