Hi ,
Anyone knows if you have Residence Permit for 5 years as an Extended Family Member of EEA.When you apply for PR Do you get COA with right to work ? As i dont want to lose my job and i think obviously they should give a right to work as you already hold a residence permit which says Employment & Business Activities allowed so when applying for PR we should be allowed to work Atleast until the application is decided and is Under process.I am non EEA National but got Residence permit in July 2010.

It won't be counted towards her qualifying period. She can only apply for PR card in April 2016 as WRS was abandoned in April 2011 otherwise her application will be refused.

Hi Sali6454, I applied before April. Biometrics application introduced after April with a new application form. So when I applied then there was not any requirement to submit biometrics.

When to apply?

good day to all, been reading this forum for a while.

Now here's my complex situation :))) If it was simple I would have got my PR long time ago...

EEA national from the Baltic States (i.e. A8)

1. Arrived to London early 2006
2. Been continuously living here in london ever since then. Only short trips abroad, typically under one week duration.
3. I have proof of addresses (rented accommodations). Bank statements, some other financial letters, for the most recent one even council tax bills, electoral records etc. Last five years should not be a problem.
4. Finally got my QP certificate :)) Only applied this year :)))

My economical activity... well, that is what REALLY is complicated.
My current full time work is just under 3 years for the same employer, have all P60, payslips, statements, etc. I got QP certificate anyway using this employer.

Before: mid 2008 to mid 2009 -- full time employed, maybe some payslips/letters/references still remain but not much. Was made redundant whilst on sick leave (employer got rid of me just before one year at work as at that time that was the requirement to apply to Employment Tribunal ) So technically I even retained my workers rights, maybe?

Due to injury I was unable to really go to work for quite a while, was freelancing :D (UNregistered:P) and then in 2010 I finally become a proper registered contractor with my own company etc. Was not earning really that much, under 20k per company year, was paying myself salary + dividends. Credit crunch years (especially 2009-2011 inclusive) were really tough from business point of view. Still I was better than many who couldn't get any substantial income during these times, I guess.

so when exactly should I apply for PR? Shall I do it soon or maybe still need to wait for a couple of years?
Proof of income from self employment is not really accepted typically, right?

Another point to make though -- I hate my current job and really need to leave, I'm missing on much better salaries than my current employment due to economic upturn from 2014 (at least in my industry sector). I should be earning at least 30% more than now. I intend to hand my notice (which is two months btw) before end of summer. Can you advise how exactly I need to do that in order to cover that period of temporary unemployment? My jobs are not at jobcentre anyway, and typically require one or two months in between jobs. Obviously I need to cover that period in my later PR application, but how exactly? I will be voluntarily quitting my job -- I even massively reduced my performance at my current job in the recent few months but my boss does not take any hints just yet ^))) would love to get some redundancy in order to retain my EEA rights... But looks like I have to show some initiative myself :D

Hi gabipo, thanks for sharing your timeline with us. You would probably receive your PR end of this month (based on the other applicants' timelines/average processing time). I applied 2 weeks after than you so fingers crossed. Keep updating us if you hear from HO.

Hello everyone,

I hope someone can advice me on applying for document certifying permanent residence.
My situation is as follows -I am a citizen of one of A8 states, came to UK in February 2005, got WRS and worked until August 2010, my non EU husband got his PR based on me exercising treaty rights in 2012. I, however, did not apply for my PR at the time as I thought I got it automatically after residing in UK for continuous period of 5 years, but now I decided that this document would be good to have.
From August 2010 I did not work until July 2011, and from then I have been working until now.
During all this time I was outside UK few times which comes maybe to 30 days in total.
My question is: does this 11 months out of work period break my residence in UK and is it likely that I will be refused the document?
I am planning to send my P60s covering 2005-2010 period as proof of me working, and bank statements covering 2005-2010 as proof of my residence. I understand that the form asks for more evidence, however other proof such as bills and tenancy agreements, even one of p45s have been lost, or have been thrown away, as I never thought I would be needing all that again.

Many thanks in advance

Not sure about your break, but in terms of supporting documents, I am somewhat in the same boat. Not being British, I never knew what those P60s are for and never expected to need old rental contracts anymore. I have submitted some P60s, some P45s, all but one employee contract, got a reference from most employers, some wage slips and all but one rental contract. To support all that I have also sent some council tax statements and my complete stack of bank statements since I arrived in the UK in 2007 ..

We shall see if it is enough .. If not .. ah well .. then not. I can work and live here anyway legally, I just want to make it easier for the BC... If I don't get it then I may as well stay German ... no harm :p

Yeah, fingers crossed the evidence will be sufficient. I am just unsure about that 11 months period when I wasn't working...

Thanks for sharing your situation with us Gomjaba. EU citizens' applications are processed a lot quicker than non-EU ones. So you would probably receive your PR card in August. Good luck and keep updating us :)

That would be great as I need to travel to Spain for a conference in October - was almost tempted to postpone the postage of my documents to the HO - but adding further proof (more bank statements, more whatsit) is something I couldn't bare to think about :)
