The HO received mine on 20/4, took the payment on 22/4 and apart from the acknowledgement email nothing else so far...
I have applied on the 27th of April. Nothing yet. They took payment on the 29th of April. No email received. I have requested my ID back 10 days ago and I have recieved my ID back on Saturday. I'm hoping to hear from them soon.
Fingers crossed it won't be much longer for both of us.

Hi,

Bit of a newbie question! Apologies if this in the wrong thread.

My wife (married 5 years in October) is an EEA national, whilst I am not. I currently have an EEA2 residence card (prior to that I was on a Tier 1 visa) and will be applying for PR later in the year, once we've been married for 5 years.

I was going to apply for PR for myself, like I did for the EEA2 visa, but aren't sure of the benefits of applying for PR for my wife too? We both are qualified in a specific profession and have good, stable jobs. My wife has been in the same jobs for 9 years (since we moved to the UK). Obviously Brexit might impact her, but my wife is Irish, has lived here for 10 years, and given the Irish were allowed to reside here pre EU, I'm sure there will be similar arrangements in place post Brexit.

Is there any benefit applying for both of us (and our children who are also Irish citizens)?

Thanks!

Updating my timeline here:

Non-EEA Spouse (American) getting EEA_PR
EEA National (Greek) getting EEA_PR

Sent on 2 separate applications in one parcel (on the advice of the Home Office hotline, they said 2 forms was simpler.) Sent Greek national ID (instead of passport, but included all old passports) as spouse has ill parent and may need to travel.

EEA_PR Sent: 08/08/2016
Received: 09/08/2016
Payment taken: 12/08/2016
Confirmation email: (EU Member only) 07/09/2016
Biometrics Request: (Non EU Member only) Recieved and sent 13/09/16
Passport requested back:____
Passport received: ____
EEA Pr received: ____
Non-EEA PR recieved: ____

Good luck to everyone waiting, too!

Hi,

Does anyone know what is the HO process in case if they decide that documents are insufficient? Will they contact the applicant and ask for additional docs or the application will be rejected and partial fee refunded?

The guide notes saying that in case of insufficient docs or info application will be rejected but I'm wondering if the HO officers are actually "humans" and will not reject the application straight away.

Thanks

Quick question:

I arrived in the UK with my parents (Polish citizens) in 2006 when I was 15. Can I count the 2006 - 2009 period when i was under 18 and in full time education towards my qualifying time?

Thanks

Hi Ciaocico,
I am afraid it is indeed worrying that you haven't received the confirmation email yet.
Nomader, Johnkk, Shakesy and Kruk all posted their application on 27 July or later and they all have received the confirmation email.
I think you should get in touch with Home Office.

Best of luck

Yes, if you have a Union citizen qualified person (parent) as sponsor.

May I ask you a question ?
Did you received your PR card with First class or a prepaid envelope ? I received my documents about 1 week earlier than you, but I haven't yet received my PR card even I have provided a prepaid envelope of next day deliver .
Thank you.
