Post by ggolal01 » Fri Dec 30, 2016 1:16 pm

Hello,

I'm EU nationality and about to apply for Permanent residency document (UK). I arrived to UK on 9/09/2010, started to work on 14/02/2011 till 28/02/2016. It covers 5 years which makes me eligible to apply for PR. However, after resignation, I was unemployed till 01/11/2016. Can I cover in my application just the period from 14/02/2011 till 28/02/2016 or does it have to be the last five years of my residency in the UK?

Also, I would like to make an application for my whole family (2 adults including me and a child, all EU nationality). Which sections of EEA PR form do I have to fill in regards of my husband and a child? Am I counted as a sponsor for them?

Thank you in advance!

Regards,
Greta

A RC is not a visa merely a confirmatory document that confers no rights.

The RC is pretty irrelevant if you have PR and wife also has PR (& DCPR) - you can work away to your heart's content.

Send all information and evidence since you entered UK.
Caseworker will figure out your qualifying period and whether she can confirm your PR status.

Its certainly not simply about the last 5 years and no issue if you weren't working after acquiring the holy grail of PR in early 2016.

Enter child as dependent of main applicant in the form.
Who has best record and evidence of exercising treaty rights, you or hubby?
If its you then add hubby as your dependent too.
Skip section 2.

Read form carefully to figure out the rest. Its a monster - good luck!
If its too much you could use an earlier simpler form.

Non - EU Application sent: 11 Nov 2016
HO received: 14 Nov 2016
Payment taken out: 16 Nov 2016

I had not received any letter for bio-metrics or COA; so I contacted the Home Office via their email on the 14th December.

I then received a letter (dated 14th Dec) saying that I had not done my biometrics within the 15 days and I was given an extra 10 days. (I HAD NEVER RECEIVED ANY LETTER WHATSOEVER).

Anyways I completed my bio-metric enrolment on the 20th December.

Hi Everyone!

I'm delighted to announce that my PR came through on Friday the 30th of December 2016!

My back ground is: I'm a German Citizen ( New Zealand born) and have been here in the UK since April 2000.
I married my husband in 2013 and we have a 1 year old daughter.

I worked full time until October 2015, was on Maternity Leave until August 2016 and have been working part time since August 2016.

Application Sent: 05/09/2016
Application Received: 12/09/2016
Payment taken: Postal Order
Confirmation email by HO: 27/09/2016
Passport requested back: Didn't request as I sent my ID card and kept my passport in case I had to travel
Passport received: ID card received at same time as documents and PR Card
PR Date: Qualified since April 2011
PR received: 30/12/2016 along with documents and ID card.

Before I submitted my application I met with an immigration lawyer through Citizens Advice- they recommended that I send as much extra documentation such as a copy of my husband's and daughter's UK passports and any other documentation since 2000. I have no idea if it was looked at by the Home Office but I don't think it hurt to send it in as the lawyer said it would extra weight to my case AND it would make me look like I was organised.

I would suggest to anyone applying for PR- be through in checking your application and be as clear and concise as possible- spell it out for the Home Office as they want to see a 'timeline' of your PR journey . I had a cover letter for every single section of the application- this gives them a summary and also if there any 'gap's ' you can explain why there are gaps and they won't assume that you have done that on purpose.

Next step: British Citizenship

Thanks Noajthan, I understand that RC isn't a visa but what shall I show when my employer asks for my status?
Also I don't even have the PR yet, just a COA which doesn't even confirm the right to work!

Hi all, our timeline below - this is for EEA citizen + EEA child (minor) - requested PR card for both.

Application Sent: 30 Dec 2016
Application Received: 3 Jan 2016
Payment taken:
Confirmation email by HO:
Passport requested back: 3 Jan 2016
Passport received:
PR Date:
PR received:

Home Office received our application today and I've also filled out the request to get our passports and my child's birth certificate back. We're due to travel abroad mid-February (school half term) and we need the passports. To request the passports back I've only used the Royal Mail special delivery tracking number and the HO reference number (old one - from when we applied for registration certificates).

I'm now wondering, perhaps it would have been better to request passports only after we got the confirmation email? Or shall I send another request when we get the confirmation email? Does the confirmation email include a case ID and a HO reference number?

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking around these forums for months now while I was preparing my DCPR application. I just wanted to thank everyone for their continuous input and help and to share my timeline.

I received my DCPR on 19/12, exactly 3 months after I posted my application to the Home Office, albeit my first name was misspelled! I will try and phone the helpline for advice but I have a feeling this may be more difficult than one might expect!

Happy New Year!

I'm in a similar situation. EEA and Non-EEA application submitted together.

My timeline:
Application Sent: 24/06/16
Application Received: 27/06/16
Payment Taken: 01/07/16
Confirmation Email (EEA): 28/07/16
Biometrics letter (Non-EEA): 30/07/16 (Dated 27/07/16)
Biometrics done: 30/07/16
COA (Non-EEA): 02/08/16

Does it make sense to contact the Home Office at this point? Is there any way to contact them except calling their landline?

It is over 6 months from when we submitted the application but do they start counting the 6 months from then or from when they send the COA?

We're a family of 4: 3 EEA Nationals (my spouse and 2 kids) and 1 non-EEA (myself).

I called today to enquire about progress in our case since it's been more than 6 months and they returned the call on the same day - which is good and surprising at the same time. That said, the lady on the other side said the 4 cases are still showing as "Pending" and no decision's been made yet. When I asked if the case worker can contact us for update or anything, she declined and advised that the only means of communication is via post and gave me the UKVI Po Box address in Liverpool.

Has anyone who applied in June received anything?

And good luck for everyone in these hard times!

Our timeline so far is:
Application submitted: 20/06/2016
Application received: 21/06/2016
Payment taken: 24/06/2016
Case reference for EEA nationals received (email): 25/07/2016
Biometric Enrollment letter for non-EEA received: xx/07/2016
COA for non-EEA received (letter): 30/07/2016
Decision letter: Waiting!
Documents returned: Waiting!

Oddly enough, someone suggested that my wife should've applied first on her own as an EEA national then when it's done, I can apply separately and the kids can just get naturalised automatically, since they were both born in the UK. I, naively, went through the clear path and made a joint application.

As I can see, many EEA nationals who applied on their own benefited from reduced processing times (~100 days).

What's infuriating, is that, in this day and age, the only way to contact UKVI is via archaic post! Or it's just their way to "justify" significant delays.

Hello everyone,

I am an EEA national and I have been living in the UK since May 2004, working continuously for the same employer, including two periods of statutory maternity leave.

I also am in the process of preparing my application for PR (going the "qualified person" route), but I'd need some help clarifying some steps in the process which are not clear (for me at least):

1) Section 5.A/5.3 requires listing all absences from the UK since first arrival. How accurate this should be? I mean, it could be very difficult remembering all the trips out of the country, in particular work related, so this section could lead to mistakes. Will this affect the issue of the certificate?

2) Section 9.A: Do I have to highlight the Maternity leave periods or can I just state my working start/end dates without any interruption?

3) Same section: When they ask for proof of being a qualified person through work, is it sufficient to give a letter from the employer or the indeed need ALL the payslips/bank statements (which I understand need to be on paper with the bank stamp, no downloads from the online banking system) proving receipt of payroll?
Would the yearly P60s suffice?

4) Once PR certificate is received, do I need to wait 12 months for applying for citizenship? or can be done immediately since I already fulfil the requirement of the 5yrs and over?

Many thanks to all for your help.

R.

Just a quick one please:

I'm non-EEA Married to EEA: 19/08/2011 (as your wife is a BC so HO will not recognise her as an EEA national, she cannot be your sponsor on EU migration route anymore, but there is an exception if you held a UK RC issued in or before July/Oct 2012 which you are, or even from your wedding date! in both cases you are before that date)

I received RC: 07/02/2012
Spouse received BC: 10/06/2014
Spouse Been working full time for as long as she's been in UK, 14 years
We have been living together for 6 years.
I did not work for 4 years, 06/2012-05/2016, this is a period when I have been trying to establish my own business which didn't work out and then worked for 6 month for google when I started learning Information Technology on my own and getting international certificates, Spouse income and my savings been paying for us in this time, and finally got a good job on 05/2016 and been working full time ever since.

I have read through this thread and learned a lot, thank you all for your inputs.

Could you please advise if I can apply for PR, I think I could apply 5 years from marriage? Yes as your 5 yrs clock has started from your wedding's date and apply by using McCarthy transitional arrangement
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... als-v4.pdf
page 28 (you need to print and include cover letter with it)

Can I still work when my application is in process :?: file your application asap so you can get COA. even that they can wait for few weeks!
If I receive my PR hopefully, when can I apply for BC considering my wife got BC on 10/06/2014, or is it just 12months from the PR date? You can apply soon you get your PR as you are married to BC, also go for one thing at time, get your PR sorted and take it from there!

Also i suggest you to check the below links:
http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-ro ... r#p1359746

http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-ro ... 34-20.html
For more advise, and as well as for your cover letter as you should explain clearly that you are invoking the transitional arrangement***
